Our extra special critters
The dashing black horse you see is “Rooster Cogburn” a Tennessee Walking Horse that I ride around the neighborhood and at Biltmore, DuPont Forest, and Pisgah Forest. Rooster is trained using natural horsemanship and is barefoot.
We have two friendly barn cats who live in the basement of the barn house (never in the house) and have a cat door so they can enjoy the great outdoors. Their names are Max and Greyson. Both were adopted from the local humane society. They get along with everybody at the farm.
Finally we have a slew of Bantam ducks whose job is insect control and plain old entertainment. We have a kiddie pool in our yard for them to swim in. Ducks are a scream to watch! We usually have ducklings paddling around in late spring/early summer.
